Job description

Position Purpose:
Manages Centene's computer systems and networks. Manages vendor evaluations, modifies and/or debugs vendor-supplied utilities and packages, and prepares technical documentation for telecommunications, network, and system software applications.
- Perform systems design and configuration in a multi platform environment.
- Provide production support with a focus on monitoring, trending, forecasting, using log analyzer tools, such as Splunk, SaaS Analyzers, and Cribl.
- Install, configure, and administer Splunk and add on applications from Splunkbase.
- Create Splunk Dashboards, Reports, and Alerts.
- Write automation scripts to collect data logs from systems that cannot utilize universal forwarders.
- Write complex regular expressions to extract fields for data that is structured and unstructured.
- Build ITSI Glass Table views on top of core Splunk implementations.
- Provide technical support for the Centene Splunk environment and associated applications.
- Perform daily health check tasks to ensure the stability and optimization of the Splunk environment, which includes proactively identifying potential system issues before they become a problem, working with team members in deciding on a resolution, and implementing the agreed upon resolutions.
- Responsible for end user support, monitoring system usage and performance, process automation, server installation and configuration, and third party application support, including installations and configurations.
- Interface with business users and stakeholders to determine requirements.
- Review operational and organizational changes, assess how these changes will affect the server environment, and incorporate the changes into the system architecture.
- Coordinate, test, and implement all enhancements or new releases of Splunk applications.
- Monitor, analyze, and evaluate system utilization to ensure the appropriate and efficient use of applications and system resources.
- Provide onboarding various data sources including network data (firewall, switches, and routers) and application logs.
- Perform network and performance troubleshooting.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as system startup and shutdown, backup strategy, documentation, user management, and security and network management.
- Build various SRE solutions for IT infrastructure and application teams.
- Build data optimization solutions using tools like Cribl, terraform, AWS and Databricks.
- Work on assignments related to developing logging standards and metrication for performance and predictive analysis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
Education/Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
Requires 4 - 6 years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.
Master's Degree Computer science, information systems, or similar field preferred
