Job description

• Only qualified GIS Specialist candidates located near the Jefferson City, MO area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence

Skills Required:

  • Expert in ESRI Suite

  • ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, Enterprise Geodatabases, and project management.

  • Ability to plan projects and tasks

  • Act as a team lead

  • Respond to Helpdesk Tickets

  • Troubleshooting Software issues find solutions and fix the issues

    Responsibilities Include:

    Technical Support:

  • Provides GIS technical support for internal and external organizational systems and responds to technical requests from GIS professionals/users and resolves problems.

  • Work cooperatively with, and provide ongoing GIS support and recommendations to, MDC project managers and peers.

  • Provide training, development, and operational support to GIS users.

  • Respond to IT Helpdesk tickets that are assigned, troubleshoot software issues, find solutions and fix problems.

    Research:

  • Evaluates new and emerging geographic information technology solutions to assess their value to the Department.

  • Help integrate high-value solutions with the Department's existing IT systems to optimize return on investment.

    Consulting:

  • Provides consultative guidance and technical expertise in geospatial hardware, software, data and procedures to the Department.

  • Work with IT Project teams and business units to identify, define and document GIS project requirements and solutions.

  • Create maps, reports, and presentations in support of various GIS and technology projects.

    Application Development:

  • Create and Support Survey 123 and ArcGIS Field Map Applications.

  • Build ArcGIS Online and Enterprise Portal Web Applications.

    Governance:

  • Assists with the development of GIS Software, hardware, and data policy, standards for the Department.

  • Reviews data processing and quality control procedures and applications to ensure data integrity, compatibility with existing systems, and compliance with standards, policies, and other guidelines.
