Blade Line-B-Operator-2nd Shift

What You'll Do

As a B-Operator, you'll be part of our team located in Tupelo, MS. You'll get to:

  • Responsible for moving and coordinating materials to operators

HEAT TREAT LOADER / STAMPING PACKER

  • Make sure every empty bin that enter the BLADE LINE areas are removed of all old labels.
  • Load stamped blades (off from conveyor or from WIP inventory), in heat treat racks
  • Quality Check blades every 30 minutes before racking blades
  • Pack overflow stamped blades in bins and make sure all bins have correct labels and count (full and/or partial). Count must be turned into Team Lead at end of shift

HEAT TREAT UNLOADER/PACKER / STRAIGHTENER LOADER

  • Make sure every empty bin that enter the BLADE LINE areas are removed of all old labels.
  • Unload blades off from heat treat racks and load blades on to straightener conveyor (make sure to wipe excessive oil off blades, so will not stick together)
  • Pack overflow heat treated blades in bins and make sure all bins have corrected labels and count (full and/or partial). Count must be turned into Team Lead at end of shift

STRAIGHTENER UNLOADER/PACKER

  • Make sure every empty bin that enter the BLADE LINE areas are removed of all old labels
  • Pack/count (to standard BIN COUNT), FINISHED "READY TO SHIP" blades.
  • Track count of scraps from straightener - label bin as "SCRAP FROM STRAIGHTENER")
  • Make sure all bins have correct labels and count (full and/or partial). Count must be turned into Production Lead at end of shift

FLOATER

  • Make sure every empty bin that enter the BLADE LINE areas are removed of all old labels.
  • Make sure full bins and empty bins are rotated at each station
  • Stage all "FINISH", "REWORK", "SCRAP FROM STRAIGHTENER" bins in proper locations. Alert forklift driver for assistance if needed
  • Make sure all bins have correct labels and count (full and/or partial). Count must be turned into Production Lead at end of shift
  • Make sure staging and storage areas of bins are organized and bin inventory is updated daily
  • Help fill in to rotate out breaks, to make sure all team members receive their breaks

MANUAL INSPECTOR/SORTER/PACKER

  • Make sure every empty bin that enter the BLADE LINE areas are removed of all old labels
  • Make sure correct check gauges are used to check blade tips
  • Should take no more than 5 seconds to check each blade
  • Pack/count (to standard BIN COUNT), FINISH "READY TO SHIP" blades.
  • Track count of blades "ON HOLD" - label as "ST05"
  • Make sure all bins have correct labels and count (full and/or partial). Count must be turned into Production Lead at end of shift

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Team player and understand what it takes to work as a team (teamwork)
  • Good mechanical background
  • Familiarity with company policies and Blade Line Rules/Guidelines
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good organizational skills
  • Some understanding of Lean Manufacturing
  • Understand and capable of using precision measuring instruments (check gages, micrometers, calipers, and indicators)
  • Some understanding of metal stamping (coil set-up, feeder, press, EOAT, etc.) and milling machine process
  • Some understanding on Straightener Machine - reset
  • Willing to get hands dirty and help move bins, HT Chemical Titration test, all Quality checks, etc.
  • Able to lift, up to 50 lbs. and be on your feet (walking/standing for a long period of time)
  • Able to use operate electric pallet jack
  • Understand inventory control, quality requirements, process control, and preventative maintenance
