Job description

Summary The MIL Corporation is seeking an Accounting Manager (Accounting, Manager) to work with a Federal client in Mississippi. The Accounting Manager provides expert-level financial management knowledge and experience supervising a team delivering accounting and financial support. This position currently requires a fully on-site schedule, with remote work available by approval only. Schedule is subject to change based on company/contract requirements. Responsibilities Applies expert knowledge of financial management concepts, processes, practices and procedures on technical assignments. Applies expert skills in using the systems that support financial management services to perform more complex operations. Oversees and executes accounting and financial management services such as: Operations for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fund balance with Treasury, and travel Reconciliation of journals, subsidiary ledgers, and balances of an accounting system Issues with invoices, statements, accounts, and submitting units Analysis and reconciliation of financial system information with operating unit data Examination and correction of financial management data to ensure completeness and accuracy in accordance with accounting procedures. Maintenance of files, records, and reporting Suggestions for handling unusual or non-recurring transactions An employee in this position oversees team members, and works with colleagues and senior managers. Travel None Required Qualifications 12 years of experience in federal financial management Expert-level knowledge of financial management and accounting practices and principles. Expert skills in using the systems that support financial management services Ability to manage federal financial based processes Ability to identify and solve problems through teamwork and consultation Strong written and verbal communication skills Desired Qualifications Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat. Education High school diploma or G.E.D. Salary at MIL is determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and contractual limitations. For this position, the projected compensation range is $70,000 - $85,000 per year.
