Job description

This position is responsible for working in an Air Force Readiness and Emergency Management (EM) Flight supporting a variety of programs associated with delivery of emergency management functions to include base EM operations, training of base personnel, and logistics of EM equipment. Responsibilities Provides on-scene command and control and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) management for all instances requiring EM support
Responds to and supports recovery from real-world emergencies, incidents and disasters; participates in base exercise program advising commanders of response to scenarios
Accomplishes tasks, services, and requirements related to emergency management planning, such as developing planning documents and facilitating the Installation EM Working Group; conducts staff assistance visits to local units to provide training and assess EM readiness
Develops training programs and delivers EM education and training such as CBRN defense and Shelter Management
Performs specialized detection, sampling and mitigation actions of unknown substances as well as contamination control procedures
Manages and maintains CBRN response and other equipment
EM personnel within the installation Disaster Response Force are considered Emergency Responders under the Air Force Incident Management System implementation of the National Response Plan and the National Incident Management System Qualifications Previously held 7-level United States Air Force 3E9X1, Emergency Management specialty code
Qualified by the International Fire Service Accreditation Congress and National Fire Protection Act for hazardous materials Be able to meet physical and knowledge level requirements of National Fire Protection Act
Must have or be able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance (SECRET minimum)
