Job description

This position lives on-site at an HRA-owned apartment.
Resident Caretakers are provided an unfurnished apartment free of rent and utility payments.
SCOPE:
The Resident Caretaker lives at the HRA apartment complex s/he is assigned to and makes her/himself available to the residents during the weekdays, evenings, nights, holidays and weekends to provide HRA representation for any contingencies which may arise.
At all times, this employee is to maintain the integrity of the Authority in all its operations and dealings with the public and other governmental agencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Work well with the public sector. Ability to make decisions in emergency situations. Possess a valid driver's license. Possess elementary mechanical skills and the ability to recognize potential problems. Good Communications Skills.
JOB RESPOSIBILITIES:
1. Patrol premises on a regular basis to make him or herself visible and accessible to the residents, to keep out trespassers, to prevent disturbances or malicious damage, and keep premises locked as directed. Note any problems and report them to the supervisor.
2. Be available to locked out residents.
3. Be available to be on-call and prepared to react to emergencies.
4. Weekend and holiday on-call rotation for all HRA complexes.
5. During non-business hours ensure that all common areas are neat, clean, and safe. Common areas include lobbies, hallways, specialty rooms (party or exercise room, etc.), restrooms, elevators, stairways, entrance vestibules, garbage disposal areas, and garage area.
6. Report on housekeeping practices detrimental to the premises; enforce HRA rules and regulations for residents.
7. Report trespassers to prevent disturbances or malicious damage, and keep premises locked as directed.
8. Submit daily time records as directed.
9. Perform other tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s).
