Schedule:

• Full Time, working 80 hours per pay period.
• Typical shift, Monday - Friday, Days.
• Occasional evening and weekend hours required.

Position Summary:

The Life Enrichment Assistant is responsible for implementing and coordinating an activity program that encourages all residents to function at their highest possible level of independence. Coordinates and schedules a Life Enrichment program to meet the needs and interests of the residents are in compliance with existing rules and regulations. Maintains resident personal dignity, self-respect and safety at all times. Responsible for work supplies and tools to ensure that resources are used wisely. Supports and implements all safety practices. Services are provided in accordance with the mission of Guardian Angels.

Job Duties:

• Responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating activity program.
• Maintains activity equipment, and supplies.
• Coordinates activities with nursing, volunteers and other groups, taking already established routines into account so the activity program can fit into the facilities overall activities pattern.
• Designs a creative and exciting Life Enrichment program to meet the needs and interests of the residents.
• Plans and implements Life Enrichment calendar each month that includes life skills, education, and recreational programming daily. Posts calendar throughout the building and has extras for our residents and families.
• Assists to provide programming one on one to those who cannot participate in a group setting.
• Coordinates transportation for all activities.
• Assists Resident Assistants with set up for activities.
• Coordinates special events for residents.
• Recruits, trains, and supervises volunteers. Schedules volunteers needed.
• To assist in providing a dignified, respectful, resident-centered environment for residents

Qualifications:

• AA or BA degree in Recreational Therapy or related field highly desired.
• One to three years prior supervisory experience.
• Three to five years prior experience in activities or related field.
• Excellent verbal and written (read, write) communication skills.
• Self-motivated, ability to prioritize.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
