As an Inside Sales Specialist at our busy St Paul branch, you will be an enthusiastic connector between our outside sales team and customers. The focus of this job is making connections with people, building an understanding of our products and culture, and ensuring customer orders are processed accurately. An ideal candidate will work best in a fast-paced environment where results need to be shared and effectively delegated when necessary.


Inside Sales Responsibilities:

  • Support and backup outside sales staff in the building materials distribution center
  • Work with customers and vendors to negotiate customer pricing and shipping costs
  • Pull inventory for orders
  • Thorough and precise; diagnose problems and provided proven solutions
  • Communicating shortages of inventory to customers and the purchasing department effectively and honestly
  • Directly work with long-term customers daily
  • Finalize and oversee the fulfillment of customer orders
  • Schedule deliveries
  • Be friendly and genuinely interested in the business, agenda, and needs of others, including the company, its management, the team, and our customers
  • Able to handle detailed work quickly & correctly
  • Following up carefully and cheerfully with customers to ensure the preservation of relationships on orders including payment processing
  • Support a fast-paced environment with multiple projects going on simultaneously

Job Requirements:

  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Ideal candidates have a few years of inside sales & customer service experience
  • Roofing, mechanical, industrial, HVAC, and siding product knowledge preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in the construction industry is helpful
  • Willing to jump in and roll up your sleeves to help out when necessary
  • Detail-oriented and focused; can concentrate on the task at hand for long periods
  • Follow established guidelines, structure, and policies, while working with and for others
