Job Summary:

Our client is local to Minneapolis, MN and is a leading manufacturer in the design of industrial automated equipment for a variety of different industries. With over 30 years of business experience, our client is experience significant growth year over year and is looking to grow their engineering team by brining on an experienced Electrical Controls Engineer to help lead their team. The Electrical-Controls Engineer position will focus on developing and implementing cutting-edge automation solutions to optimize performance and efficiency.

Electrical Controls Engineer Experience:


  • At least an Associates degree in related field.
  • 5 years of experience in designing and programming control systems for automated equipment.
  • Proficiency with PLCs and automation practices is required.
  • Experienced with PLC, HMI, Robot, AutoCAD, Motion Control, Pneumatics, and Hydraulics.
  • AutoCAD, Studio 5000, RS 500, FactoryTalk View, or other Allen Bradley Software.

Electrical Controls Engineer Requirements:


  • Design and programmed the equipment to company and customer build specifications using standard procedures.
  • Safety circuit design and programming via safety PLC.
  • Risk assessment implementing associated safety devices.
  • Willing to travel an average of 25%.

Electrical Controls Engineer Responsibilities:


  • PLC-based automation control systems are designed and deployed, integrating motion control, sensors, VFD drives, and actuators.
  • Ongoing support for existing systems is provided, troubleshooting and ensuring seamless functionality.
  • Electrical/Pneumatic design, machine PLC programming, machine debug and certification for customer run-off.
  • Travel to customer sites for installation and startup of equipment
