Job description
GeoLogics is partnering with an aerospace and defense company on an exciting Senior Embedded Test Engineer position in Minneapolis, MN. This is a contract to direct hire position. Position: Senior Embedded Test Engineer Location: Minneapolis, MN Pay: $45.00 - $59.00 per hour DoD Clearance Requirement: The ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance is required. Due to the nature of work performed in this facility, U.S. Citizenship is required. Job Responsibilities: Perform requirements-based software verification of embedded software. Plans and performs a variety of tasks across the areas of software requirements analysis, documentation, hardware-software integration, troubleshooting, problem solving, and software verification testing. Work on programs involving the development, maintenance, upgrade, and porting of embedded product software and/or product support software to enhance, implement and support project/system functionality for the assigned technical effort. Mentor less experienced software engineers and software test engineers to help develop their software development, test capabilities, and troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Collaborate across the other engineering disciplines such as Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Systems. Ensure that technical approach is consistent with established engineering principles and practices. Ensure that product outcomes meet customer needs and that customer and company technical, system, performance, process, and quality requirements are met.
Required Qualifications: Ability to obtain a DoD Secret Security clearance
Bachelor's degree in STEM field of study
Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in verification testing of real-time, embedded software. This experience might be gained in a test role within a software development organization or gained within a software Quality Assurance organization, depending upon how the organization is structured.
Experience developing tests using TestStand and/or LabView tools from NI Experience developing, analyzing, and/or reviewing requirements for safety critical real-time embedded software
Low level integration and test (drivers, comms, I/O, HW/SW interface) and troubleshooting skills
Ability to develop, debug, and execute automated and manual requirements-based software verification testing Version control and issue tracking tools
Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with software architecture and design information captured in models (using tools such as Magic Draw, Enterprise Architect, or similar model-based engineering tool). Familiarity with weapon systems, munitions, and/or combat vehicle functionality and capability Experience using GitLab or other CI / CD tools
Traceability across software requirements, design, and verification artifacts
Testing and troubleshooting software in the areas of communications, device drivers, and IO interfaces Integrating and testing software with various real-time operating systems such as vxWorks and Linux/Unix derivatives
