Job description

We are working with an aerospace system and part manufacturer in Everett who is looking to fill an assistant director of quality role.

JOB SUMMARY

Work in a Corporate Quality role to promote a quality mindset and culture across all sites. Interface with site senior management and quality teams to lead and assist in establishing and maintaining efficient and effective quality management systems. As needed, be the onsite Quality Management resource for short term assignments. Act as a conduit to promote and exchange best practices and continuous improvement across the organization. Act as an advisor, coach and mentor to quality leads and personnel, promoting a quality attitude through various business processes. The ideal candidate would have shop floor Quality Engineering experience in various manufacturing environments and has been promoted to a Quality Management position. The role will involve working onsite at different manufacturing sites to assist with Quality related tasks and continuous improvement activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve in a Quality Management role onsite for various facilities as required • Support individual company's quality improvement projects by being onsite at locations globally • Implement site quality initiatives through onsite support. • Develop site quality talent through hands on support. • Act as a conduit between quality functions at the sites and Loar Senior Management • Drive improvement through quality metrics. Assist in driving an organizational wide quality culture by integrating quality and an improvement mentality into manufacturing and other business processes. • Identify areas requiring corrective action as well as opportunities for improvement. Follow through to ensure the effectiveness of improvements. • Provide expertise and assistance to ensure all sites in all matters related to quality. • Collaborate with external and internal customers, working together to resolve issues affecting product conformity. • Work with the quality department at the sites to establish, exchange and implement best practices • Be a lead in problem solving and root cause analysis. • Provide training to site quality teams. • Support supplier quality activities.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS • 5 plus years in Quality Management in an Aerospace environment • Extensive experience in Quality Engineering • Extensive Experience with AS9100 (preferably in a design environment) • Nadcap and special processing experience are preferred • Experience with leading a team • Root cause analysis and corrective action plans • Quality experience in various manufacturing environments (machining, electronics, composites, assembly ) • Familiar with mechanical inspection using latest measurement techniques (CMM, Vision Systems, Mic, Calipers ) • Working knowledge of GD&T and metrology methodologies • Experience with FAA regulatory requirements (MIDO, FSDO ) and Part 145 Repair Stations • Experience understanding and implementing APQP principles, customer flow downs, and strategies • Bachelor's degree in Quality, Operations or Engineering field • Experience with ERP/MRP systems • Computer experience in a Windows environment with Microsoft products • Ability to lead without the benefit of direct reports in a fast-paced changing environment • Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.

Travel

• Home office and working at various sites 50-70%
