Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America designs, manufactures and supports a complete range of compact equipment including compact track loaders, mini excavators, wheel loaders and construction equipment for use in such markets as construction, landscaping, utility, land management and agriculture. The products are sold primarily through a third party, independent dealer network.

OVERVIEW:

The Maintenance and Facilities Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, coordinating, and communication maintenance and facility repairs, services, and projects. Will assist the Maintenance team by providing direction, coordination, and support to do repair, maintenance, installations, and preventive maintenance on all assigned equipment and facilities. Provide work orders, maintain records, and reporting for activities. This position will have oversite to the Grand Rapids campus (Main Plant, Outlet Store, Test Track Shop, Engineering Office, Y-North Warehouse and Distribution Center).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supports Grand Rapids campus teams on setting priorities and resolving issues related to maintenance and facilities.

Maintain stock parts of inventory according to required Spare Part Inventory requirements and of supplies for janitorial needs.

Order parts and equipment, track inventory, create reports, compare purchase orders to invoices, verify physical inventories, locate parts as needed, and create shortage reports.

Review job orders to determine work priorities.

Schedules repair, maintenance, installation of machines, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.

Ensure facilities and grounds are maintained, manage 3rd party services for lawn care, snow removal, and janitorial.

Provide Project Management for equipment installations, upgrades, remodel projects, and other specific projects as assigned.

Schedule cleaning and maintain a clean facility environment.

Perform facility maintenance as required or reported.

Develops preventive maintenance program for equipment and systems.

Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify.

Requisitions tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations.

Provide monthly reporting and tracking of department activities.

Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with maintenance and company policies and procedures.

Ensure all work is performed in a safe and healthy manner.

Other duties as assigned.

Provide oversite to (2) Maintenance/Facilities team members.



QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:

2-year Technical Diploma or associate degree in related field preferred.

3-5 years or more related experience or an equivalent combination of education, experience, 0r work in managing plant maintenance and facilities.

1-3 years of experience in working with work orders system.

1-3 years MS Office (word, excel, outlook).

Experience in providing customer service.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Mechanical aptitude.

Knowledge of work order and preventive maintenance system and processes.

Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

Strong Customer Service skills.

Excellent communication skills; both written and oral.

Demonstrated critical thinking skills.

Able to gather and analyze relevant information and coordinate work with other team members.

Functions independently within context of day-to-day activities.

Able to work evening or weekend as dictated by repairs.

Able to lift 60+lbs.

Able to work 40+ hours per week depending upon workload.

Strong computer skills.
