Job Title: School Custodian (Night Shift)

Location: Brimley Area Schools

Shift: Night Shift (3:00 PM - 11:00 PM)

Starting Pay: $16.87 per hour + additional $0.75 per hour for night shift

Job Summary:
The School Custodian is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and overall upkeep of school facilities during the night shift. This position ensures that classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and other areas are clean, sanitized, and well-maintained for the next school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors.
• Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.
• Clean windows, mirrors, and surfaces to ensure a neat appearance.
• Restock supplies in restrooms and common areas (soap, paper towels, etc.).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs and fixing minor repairs.
• Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Lock and secure the building after the shift, ensuring all doors and windows are closed and secure.
• Assist in setting up and cleaning after school events, as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals safely.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Reliable, responsible, and punctual.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and bending.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
