District Substitute - Koepsell Early Childhood Center
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma required.
- Requires at least 60 semester hours of satisfactory credit (grade "C" or better) combined from one or more regionally accredited two- or four-year colleges or universities.
- Teacher Certification preferred.
- Evidence of computer efficiency.
- Strong children relationship skills; demonstrated organization skills; and excellent public relations skills to include courtesy, tact, and strong communication/language skills.
- Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent or his designee may find appropriate.
- The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or nonprescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the district.
- Employee shall properly implement Board Policy 3122, Policy 4122, and Policy 2260 on non-discrimination and shall comply with Federal and State laws and regulations, particularly Part 1 104 of Section 504 Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (34 CFR) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Job Goal: To perform daily and/or long-term substitute teacher duties and responsibilities requiring knowledge of the school district rules, regulations, practices, and procedures. To create and maintain a safe, caring learning environment for students and facilitate their learning and communications within the school environment. To work with parents of students to enhance their understanding of learning and communication with their children. To work with administration to continue to develop a high-quality program and to be a continual learner.
Reports to: Superintendent of Schools or his designee
Duties and Responsibilities Include:
- Facilitate the learning of students
- Understands and implements the curriculum with fidelity
- Help select materials, supplies, equipment
- Work with grade level teachers
- Work with parents of students
- Assess students and keep records of student learning and growth
- Coordinate with other teachers in the district or building
- Participate in professional development as required
- Other duties as assigned, which may include but not limited to substitute teaching at different grade levels and/or district buildings.
Terms of Employment: Assignment is for 180 instructional school days, 7.5 hours per day
Base Salary Range:
Daily Substitute Rate - $120.00
District Substitute Rate (non-certified) - $135.00
District Substitute Rate (certified) - $165.00
Long-Term Assignment Substitute Rate (certified) - $165 for days 1-60 and $200.00 for days 61+
The Long-Term Assignment rate is for a substitute teacher that is placed in an open teaching position that is within their certification to teach.
ADA Requirements: Teaching environment; computer work; telephone work; interactive with students, public, staff members; multi-tasking assignment; ability to assist and/or lift students.
