DEPARTMENT/BUILDING: Facilities/As Assigned

REPORTS TO: Facilities Supervisor/Manager, BuildingAdministrator

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Maintain the facilities in a clean and orderly condition in accordance to thedistrict's standards. Custodians will be provided with daily assignments andchecklists assigned by building administrators, management and/or supervisors.Custodians will follow the direction of lead custodians. Custodians will activelycommunicate with building administrators to ensure building needs are addressedproperly.

The Facilities Department will operate in a professional and customer serviceminded manner in accordance with district standards.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Physical Demands - While performing the duties of this job, the employee isregularly required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance;stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and smell. The employee isoccasionally required to use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.The employee will frequently be required to sit, stand and/or walk, and may berequired to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job includeclose vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, andthe ability to adjust to focus. Extensive knowledge in custodial operations, equipment use, and districtexpectations.
2.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
3.
Expertise in commercial cleaning, such as: buffing, stripping/waxing floors,stoning, gym floor applications, and all other facets of maintaining a highlevel of cleanliness.
4.
Strong sense of urgency; self-directed.
5.
Must be dedicated, determined, and dependable.
6.
Must be knowledgeable in some general maintenance such as: light bulbreplacement, filter replacement, plumbing, etc.
7.
Perform daily assignments and checklists as assigned by management.
8.
Maintain building cleanliness in accordance with district standards.
9.
Assist with events, such as: set up, tear down, and clean up.
10.
Provide excellent customer service to all building occupants and visitors.
11.
Responsible for physical building security to ensure that all windows anddoors are secure on a daily basis.
12.
Salting and shoveling as required during inclement weather.
13.
Responsible for exterior building perimeter debris removal.
14.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
15.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and or equivalent. 16.
Experience in commercial custodial services is preferred.
