Billing Specialist Job Overview:

Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Billing Specialist to join their accounting team in a fast-paced construction environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of billing or related experience, with a strong focus on accuracy, communication, and time management. As a Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing, issuing, and tracking invoices for construction projects, while ensuring compliance with company policies and customer contract terms.

Key Responsibilities for Billing Specialist:

  • Prepare and send accurate invoices to clients based on project milestones, time, materials, and contract terms.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of customer accounts, billing statements, and payment history.
  • Review contracts and change orders to ensure billing accuracy.
  • Track outstanding payments and follow up with clients to ensure timely collections.
  • Work closely with project managers and accounting teams to resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Perform account reconciliations and ensure invoices match project budgets and timelines.
  • Assist with generating financial reports related to billing and receivables.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure compliance with construction industry billing standards and company procedures.

Qualifications for Billing Specialist:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related finance role, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in preparing invoices and financial documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with internal teams and external clients.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, cost tracking, and project management processes is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software; experience with construction management software is a bonus.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
