The Peer Support Family Support Technician serves as the recognized resource for Michigan's statewide Parent to Parent support program. This position acts as the primary liaison to Parent to Parent USA and oversees management and implementation of Michigan's program. This position oversees the development and distribution of emotional support and bereavement resources for families. This position coordinates the Sibling Support and Youth Engagement projects. This position responds to inquiries to CSHCS regarding beneficiary eligibility, enrollment and coordination between CSHCS, Medicaid and other insurance plans. This position plans, develops, and facilitates trainings, educational opportunities and other initiatives for families and professionals who work with CYSHCN. This position represents families and the family perspective in CSHCS programming and initiatives, and on state and local committees, workgroups, and advisory boards. Experience Departmental Technician 10 Two years of experience as a supervisor of administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR Two years of experience performing administrative support activities equivalent to the 9-level in state service. OR Three years of experience as a technician or paraprofessional, including one year of experience equivalent to the experienced level in state service.Departmental Technician 10 Possession of a Bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience may be substituted for the experience requirement.Position Location/Remote Office: The office location for this position is at 400 S Pine, Lansing, MI however, this position has the ability to work hybrid (combination of remote and office). Selected candidates who have been approved to work hybrid must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview. Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including: o A secure work location that allows privacy and prevents distractions. o A high-speed internet connection of at least 25 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload. o Suitable lighting, furniture, and utilities.
