About Us: We are dedicated to connecting talented professionals with exceptional career opportunities. We are currently recruiting on behalf of our charter school client in Whitmore Lake, MI, for a passionate and qualified School Social Worker.


Position Overview: The School Social Worker will provide support and services to students, helping them overcome social, emotional, and academic challenges. This role is crucial in fostering a safe and supportive school environment where every student can thrive.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide individual and group counseling to students to address social, emotional, and behavioral issues.

  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop intervention strategies for students in need.

  • Conduct assessments to identify students needs and develop appropriate action plans.

  • Offer crisis intervention and support as needed.

  • Facilitate communication between the school, home, and community resources to ensure comprehensive support for students.

  • Develop and implement programs to enhance students' social skills, coping mechanisms, and overall well-being.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student interactions and progress.

  • Participate in IEP (Individualized Education Program) meetings and provide input on student support plans.

  • Advocate for students' rights and needs within the educational system.


Qualifications:



  • Masters degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.

  • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) in the state of Michigan.

  • Possession of a 310 letter, authorizing practice in school social work.

  • Strong understanding of child and adolescent development.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse school community.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Experience working in an educational setting.

  • Knowledge of local community resources and services.

  • Bilingual abilities are a plus.
