Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented scientist with background in immunology and cellular assay development to join the AbbVie Biotherapeutics and Genetic Medicine organization to support AbbVies collaboration with the Calico Labs on aging and age-related diseases.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently and as a part of a team to support the early development of innovative therapeutics for aging and age-related diseases
  • Develop and execute cell-based immunology assays, such as immune cell activation, cytokine profiling, and cytotoxicity assays, to enhance our understanding of drug and target biology.
  • Perform biological and biochemical assays (flow cytometry, ELISA, MSD or WES, etc.) to characterize or screen recombinant tool and therapeutic proteins, such as antigens, antibodies and other biologic molecules.
  • Summarize and graph data from multiple experiments, maintain accurate electronic records of experiments and activities, and timely report experimental results
  • Collaborate closely with scientists within the department and across project teams to support projects at different stages.
  • Exhibit creativity, adaptability, quantitative thinking, and a commitment to achieving project team goals.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Masters degree in immunology, molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, or other relevant biological sciences with at least 5 years of experience, or Bachelors degree with at least 7 years of experience.
  • Expertise in multi-color flow cytometry is essential.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in optimizing and executing immunoassays.
  • Proficiency in cell culture, molecular biology and biochemical assays.
  • Experience in data science is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned research tasks, anticipate problems and propose potential solutions.
  • Capable of thriving in demanding and intellectually challenging environment, and demonstrating effective teamwork across multiple scientific disciplines and functions.
