Job description

The Quality Engineer is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of quality assurance processes, including testing, documentation, and reporting to ensure product quality. This role involves close collaboration with development teams to identify and resolve issues, ensuring compliance with quality standards and best practices.

Description

  • Serves as liaison/technical advisor to purchasing, production, and test departments.
  • Conducts failure analysis for non-conforming materials.
  • Reviews data to initiate process improvements.
  • Prepares and validates FAI reports per AS9102.
  • Evaluates supplier quality throughout program life cycle.
  • Monitors supplier performance to maintain AVL with purchasing.
  • Ensures supplier understanding of purchase order quality notes and develops product acceptance plans.
  • Inspects incoming materials using critical tests to verify quality.
  • Conducts quality audits with suppliers to resolve product issues.
  • Reports monthly on performance and concerns.
  • Performs internal audits and reports findings.
  • Supports TQM initiatives in daily tasks.
  • Develops procedures aligned with quality system requirements.
  • Follows safety guidelines for self and others per OSHA and company standards.

Profile

  • Required: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in contract manufacturing
  • Relevant internship experience preferred
  • Experience with electronic or defense manufacturing, ISO9001/AS9100/ITAR is a plus
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, testing, and troubleshooting of complex electrical assemblies
  • Proficiency in MS Office required
  • Must be local to Middlesex County
