Job description

The Manufacturing Process Engineer will be responsible for designing optimal processes for fabricating medical and aerospace components, ensuring adherence to customer purchase order requirements, including both primary and secondary operations.

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Research and apply the latest industry methodologies to the fabrication of orthopedic implants and instruments.
  • Develop and modify CNC programs, design fixtures, and create setup sheets; specify part holding techniques, speeds, feeds, and tooling, and verify programs before release to production.
  • Assist with machine setup and operation until the first lot is complete and accepted.
  • Identify and order all special tooling required to support part fabrication.
  • Create product and process specifications and other internal documents.
  • Work towards proficiency in programming, operation, and setup of various machining platforms.
  • Manage tool life to maximize unattended machine operation.
  • Practice effective project management, including scheduling, conducting meetings, and creating action plans with published minutes.

Profile

Ideal Candidate:

  • Highly proficient with multiple CNC machines such as EDM RAM, EDM Wire, Lathe, Mill, Mill-Turn, or Swiss.
  • Skilled in 3D CAD and CAM programming.
  • Experienced with dimensional inspection tools like calipers, micrometers, optical comparators, and height gauges.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret blueprints.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and internet applications.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting ability, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment and contribute effectively.
