Raytheon is seeking a Software Engineer to join our Dual Band Radar Team located in Tewksbury, MA. We develop software in C++ and Java. Candidates can expect to work on many phases of the software development life cycle supporting our Navy customers. In this position, you will be responsible for providing practical solutions to difficult technical software problems. Tasks include software development, test and verification, and data analysis.
What You Will Do
Develop robust and scalable software in C++ and Java running Linux or UNIX operating systems using Agile development methods.
Design, implement, debug and problem solve Radar Software Applications while providing feedback to other team members.
Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas to our technology, algorithms, and products.
Work in a team environment to understand end-user requirements and translate these into a pragmatic and effective technical solution.
Dive into difficult problems and successfully deliver results on schedule.
Qualifications You Must Have
Typically requires a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field and 2+ years of experience in software engineering. In absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of experience is required. An advanced degree in a related field may be substituted for two years of experience.
Experience with C++ and Java application code development and Linux/Unix.
Experience developing software in a team-based development environment.
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date. Only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer
Software development experience in a DoD environment
Real-time, multi-threaded software development experience
Strong Object-Oriented Design knowledge
Experience in Agile development methods, including Scrum, automated testing, and continuous integration
Active Secret Clearance
