General Summary

The Engineering Technician, Test, works cross-functionally with Engineering and Manufacturing to support new product releases and sustain existing manufacturing releases, resolving issues related to automated test equipment (ATE), products, and test solutions. Rochester Electronics ATE systems and solutions involve bench and mainframe instrumentation, as well as automated component handlers and wafer probers.

Responsibilities

  • Execute test-related new product introduction release preparation.
  • Operate electrical test equipment for validation, characterization, and qualification of new & existing products.
  • Identify, document, and escalate occurrences of non-conformance or process deviation. • Operate, inspect, and maintain equipment for engineering and production sample testing.
  • Participate in continuous improvement processes for safety, yield, performance, delivery, and cost.
  • Assemble and rework printed circuit boards (load boards & probe cards) as needed.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on lab equipment

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in engineering, math or science discipline
  • 1+ years microelectronics packaging test or wafer test experience
  • Micro soldering certification with 1+ years experience
  • 1+ year operating automated test equipment (ATE) in cleanroom
  • Strong understanding of technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics
  • Strong computer and analytical skills including proficiency in spreadsheets, shop floor management software (MES) and related programs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent manual dexterity and the ability to perform rework on PCB mounted microminiature electronic components under a microscope
