General Summary

The Associate Process Engineer for Test develops and documents manufacturing techniques, materials, tools and processes related to back-end semiconductor test and automation. Performs analyses and selects techniques to solve problems and enhance product yield, process flow and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes high-yielding, cost-effective processes based on product needs and customer requirements.
  • Maintains knowledge of new developments in manufacturing and design technologies.
  • Develops and executes Design of Experiments (DOE) for process optimization utilizing appropriate statistical analysis software, such as JUMP, Minitab, Excel Statistics, or equivalent.
  • Establishes processes based on product specifications.
  • Evaluates and validates process and design alternatives based on product manufacturability.
  • Understands principles of cost of goods sold and develops process improvements to increase cost effectiveness of manufacturing.
  • Understands intellectual property issues relative to processes being developed.
  • Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in engineering or equivalent technical work experience in Test engineering.
  • Familiar with MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-STD-883, ISO9001 and EIA/JEDEC.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
  • A minimum of 5 years of test manufacturing and/or engineering relevant experience.
  • Skills:
    1. Process Experience with Back-End Automated Test Equipment.
    2. Engineering and statistical technique background desired.
    3. Training/Mentoring
    4. Evaluation of equipment, instruments, materials, and techniques
    5. Understanding of high quality and striving for continuous improvement
