Job description

Job Responsibilities: Reporting to the Controller, the Financial Analyst will have the following specific job responsibilities: 1. Compile and analyze financial data from financial documents, receipts, expenditures, and profits, and prepare month-end financial reports utilizing the ERP system to support the Finance Department of the Company and the Controller in assessing the Companys financial performance (15% of time); 2. Understand and monitor government policies that could potentially affect the companys business and financial performance (5% of time); 3. Analyze complex industry financial information and provide accurate and in-depth analysis to provide financial recommendations for decision-making purposes (10% of time); 4. Perform financial forecasting using Pivot Tables, Charts, and Dashboards to assist the Company to navigate its business (5% of time); 5. Assist with the annual budgeting and financial forecasting process for the Company and its portfolio companies (10% of time); 6. Prepare budget-to-actual analysis to compare the Companys budget to actual results and identify and analyze the variance and difference (10% of time); 7. Support annual financial audit to ensure that financial statements are presented accurately and in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), allowing the management to make confident business decisions (5% of time); 8. Assist the Controller to determine the cost of operations by establishing standard costs and collecting operational data (5% of time); 9. Maintain financial security by following internal control procedures (5% of time); 10. Prepare, exam, and analyze financial statements and other financial reports to assess them for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards (5% of time); 11. Maintain schedules for financial statement support, including reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and ledgers (10% of time); 12. Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures, as well as managing day-to-day accounts payable transactions (10% of time); and 13. Perform Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis functions according to business needs as they arise (5% of time). Work Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Experience and Education Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field (foreign equivalent is acceptable) plus a minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated professional employment experience in providing financial or market analysis to support a companys strategic planning in the biotech industry. Required employment experience must include the following: 1. A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in analyzing and reporting on financial or market data in the biotech industry to drive profitability, growth, and volatility; 2. A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in developing and employing statistical models for financial or market forecasting to inform the companys business expansion; 3. A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in delivering reports and presentations on analytical findings to upper management; 4. A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in supporting a company in building partnerships, raising funds, and promoting the company to investors; 5. A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in researching the opportunities and threats in the biotech industry to better understand the financial and market position of the broader industry; and 6. A minimum of one (1) year of demonstrated experience in utilizing Microsoft Office and Excel for data analysis or reporting.
