Job description

Duties You will serve as an Equipment Specialist working for the Soldier Product Integration Directorate in the Integrated Logistics Support Center (ILSC) under the Aerial Delivery Equipment Branch and you will be responsible for: Ensure complete, timely and accurate record processing throughout the life span of each action for the assigned system(s). Review, revise, and make maintenance/provisioning decisions that materially affect the readiness or capability of the system(s). Solicit input that involves technical publications, Logistics Support Analysis (LSA), provisioning requirements, proposed overhaul components, maintenance level authorization, proposed tooling, support equipment and personnel training requirements. Coordinate with all relevant staff elements prior to adding or deleting changes within the database that are related to maintenance concepts, procedures, and provisioning changes. Manage all maintenance data related to maintenance procedures, provisioning and LSA work that deal with the assigned systems. Participate in the development, testing and evaluation of new equipment or major modifications. Establish and maintain positive liaison rapport with team members, leadership, and stakeholders. Requirements Conditions of Employment This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. Term employment is subject to a one-year trial period. Employees serving a trial period can be removed with limited appeal rights. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. This is a Term position scheduled to last 13 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of eight years depending upon the needs of management. Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year specialized experience which includes experience in: 1) Providing technical and performance data pertaining to new and existing materials used for Aerial Delivery Systems and sub systems and perform provisioning of new equipment ; 2) Conducting testing and analysis results on airdrop equipment and procedures to identify and resolve material or procedural deficiencies; 3) Recommend to engineers material design/redesign, revisions to airdrop rigging procedures and modifications to training; and 4) Advising users on technical aspects of equipment operation and maintenance. The above experience may have been gained as a qualified Army Parachute Rigger, MOS 92R3 or higher, a certified Jumpmaster or certified Joint Airdrop Inspector. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS- 11). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
