Job description

Aquila is seeking a Systems Administrator to join our team in supporting one of this country's premier defense research organizations with installation, maintenance, packaging, and patching business/user applications and Linux-based computer systems. A successful candidate will should be adept at working within a small, fast-moving team and will have at least six (6) years of hands-on experience in Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Ubuntu Linux environments, they will be adept at scripting with either Python, Bash, or Ansible. They will also have network administration experience which includes managing data center and small network configurations: switches, routers, firewalls, modern software management and monitoring tools, some knowledge of automation technique. Optional, but desired experience: Experience with managing classified IT systems
Experience and familiarity with multiple operating systems such as Windows Server 2012, 2016 and 2019, Windows 7 and 10, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu
Experience maintaining directory services. (e.g., Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, etc.).
Experience machines. (e.g., Microsoft Hyper-V, VMWare vSphere, Citrix XenDesktop/Server, Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud, etc.).
Manage system/server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
Diagnose and perform repairs on faulty system/server hardware.
Install, update, and troubleshoot systems/servers.
Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.
Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.
Conduct periodic system maintenance including cleaning (both physically and electronically), disk checks, routine reboots, data dumps, and testing.
Provide ongoing optimization and problem-solving support
Qualifications & Other Requirements Active Secret Clearance
BS in a related field or equivalent
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Linux Certification desirable
Telecommute: Candidate will need to be 100% onsite from the first day of assignment. There may be some flexibility down the road for some partial remote work but it is dependent upon the nature of the projects being worked on. Travel: No
