Job description

The Engineering Technician is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining process equipment, with a focus on improving Precision Coating's Ion Implanter and IBAD equipment. Key tasks include upgrading high vacuum systems, developing automated manufacturing processes, troubleshooting complex electro-mechanical issues, and training personnel on equipment operation.

Description

  • Design and maintain control systems for semi-automated processing equipment.
  • Ensure equipment meets NFPA 79 standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical and mechanical instruments.
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on production and R&D equipment.
  • Upgrade existing process control systems.
  • Draft and fabricate process fixtures.
  • Outline and implement new process control systems.
  • Train technicians on equipment operation.
  • Oversee the maintenance program.
  • Manage the calibration program.
  • Develop and document training procedures for personnel.
  • Create and manage technical drawings to support production processes.
  • Ensure equipment operates at maximum efficiency.

Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • Proficiency in programming with LabVIEW.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex electro-mechanical equipment.
  • Strong skills in electrical hardware design, pneumatic systems, plumbing, and high vacuum systems.
  • CAD experience, preferably with Fusion 360 or SolidWorks.
  • Familiarity with National Instruments hardware.
  • Good practical knowledge of both digital and analog electronics.
  • Capability to design control systems and motion control systems.
  • Hands-on wiring skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and presentation abilities.
  • Hearing within normal range.

Job Offer

Competitive base salary: $90,000-$105,000
