The Opportunity: A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the Department of Defense (DoD) to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and sof tware, requires a combination of te chn ical skill and careful planning. That's why we need you, a seasoned Network Engineer who knows how to develop the exact network DoD needs. As a Network Engineer on our team, you'll use your experience in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding to support the nation's defense and resp ond to evolving adversaries. You'll develop enterprise-wide infrastructure design, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems. You'll apply your expertise in routing and switching, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, and virtual routing and forwarding as you guide our team of problem-solvers to help the DoD evolve and deploy new capabilities and te chn ologies. Your knowledge of enterprise level network protocols, equipment, emerging te chn ology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in sof tware and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, Palo Alto firewalls, Juniper hardware, optical infrastructure networking, and virtual routing and forwarding, you'll serve as a t rus ted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your te chn ical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you'll make an impact on national security missions. Join us. The world can't wait. You Have: 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks 5+ years of experience deploying and configuring Sof tware Defined Wide Area Networks ( SD-WAN ) solutions 5+ years of experience documenting complex network and security systems and procedures to implement and troubleshoot the systems Experience with secret classified networks Knowledge of security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, IS-IS, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, RSVP, VPLS, STP, or L3VPNs Secret clearance HS diploma or GED Ability to obtain a DoD 8140 or 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 6 months of hire Nice If You Have: Experience with DoD networks Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network and security equipment and solutions, including Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE, or VMware Experience operating, deploying, or administering Linux and Unix systems Experience applying STIGs to systems or security hardening of systems Experience operating, deploying, or administering Windows systems and services Experience with Commer cia l or DoD Cloud networks Experience with F5 systems Bachelor's degree CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, JN CIA , or JNCP Certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required. Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
