Description
Working with an inter-disciplinary team of therapists, case managers, medical, and direct care staff, the Day Habilitation Developmental Specialist supports the goals and aspirations of individuals with developmental and other disabilities. The Day Habilitation Specialist plans and conducts a variety of functional and therapeutic groups, activities, and classes focused on skill acquisition, physical therapy, motor skills, social skills, and overall quality of life.
You are required to have a minimum of 1 year experience either working or volunteering with those with developmental disabilities.
Some of the daily job responsibilities involve feeding, non-verbal communication, hand on care giving, toileting or assisting with toileting as well as some mild behavior challenges. We do train and work with all employees on best practices and protocols for caring for someone who is developmentally disabled as well as training employees on caregiving and toileting.
You are required to have a safe driving record, pass a 10 panel Drug Screen and drive 16 passenger vans daily.
Qualifications
Acceptable background check including criminal history background check.
1 year experience with those who have developmental disabilities.
Experience and ability to drive 16 passenger size vans.
Valid drivers' license, satisfactory driving record, 1 years of driving experience in a United States, and a minimum age of 19.
Satisfactory completion of specific drug test screening.
