Job Description Summary: The Senior Supplier Specialist serves as an integral member of the Procurement & Property department, who together support Draper's multidisciplinary teams of engineers and program staff. The Procurement & Property team strives to provide both its internal and external customers with solution• oriented leadership and guidance and is focused on achieving the strategic objectives of the organization while balancing risk and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include evaluating and monitoring Draper's supply chain to identify and manage risk before onboarding new suppliers and throughout the supplier lifecycle. Assist in the development of building out processes to manage third party risk, support vendor relationships and effectively collect, evaluate, assess, manage, and report on supplier risks. Job Description: Duties/Responsibilities
• Follows established procedures, practices, policies, and Federal/State regulation to execute activities associated to meet the Draper's expectations in terms of vendor onboarding compliance. • Conduct reviews of existing and new suppliers. • Ensure adequacy of vendor documentation, assess risk, onboard and/or update supplier records as needed. • Maintain and execute an annual renewal process for supplier documentation. • Conduct continuous reviews of state and federal policies, mandates, and vendor publications related to and recommend changes to vendor management procedures affected by new guidance. • Support the selection and onboarding process for major sourcing efforts. • Maintain a structured internal governance framework to ensure effective oversight of vendor risk and procurement compliance. • Identify potential compliance gaps to Vendor Management Lead and Small Business Compliance Specialist.
• Maintains knowledge of business, products, and systems to ensure effective use of vendor and procurement services. • Performs other duties as assigned. Skills/Abilities
• Familiarity with industry cybersecurity compliance standards such as DoD, NIST and others. • Able to handle multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Able to build relationships with cross-functional and external stakeholders. • Able to quickly understand processes and ensure adherence to the same. • Able to perform tasks in a timely and well-organized manner with limited oversight.
• Possess excellent problem solving and communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiarity with PeopleSoft preferred. Education
Bachelor's degree in Business or related field of study is required. Experience
0-2 years of relevant vendor management, technology, risk, business, or a related field.
