About the role

As the Sr. Network Engineer, you will report to the Head of Infrastructure and will lead the planning, design, implementation, documentation, and support of network infrastructure, data center equipment, and system monitoring. We are looking for a technical expert with in-depth knowledge, passion, and curiosity to stay up to date with relevant technologies and trends. Important and cool stuff.
What you'll do
- Performs a wide variety of activities including the design and implementation of network equipment (switches, routers, wireless, firewalls, etc.) in a multisite on-premises and multi-cloud environment
- Maintain network infrastructure at all sites assuring physical and logical network segmentation surrounding the use of technology and data
- Proposes, schedules, and implements network improvements, patches/upgrades and repairs that will improve the performance and reliability of network systems
- Troubleshoots network technologies and monitors network health
- Documents infrastructure configuration information and ensures as-built information is current
- Develop and maintain network policies, procedures, standards, and specifications to clearly communicate expectations to project teams, external vendors, and partners
What we're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or technical discipline or equivalent
- 8+ years demonstrating in-depth knowledge, hands-on experience, and IT industry best practices delivering network technologies switches, routers, firewalls, and WAPs
- Knowledge of high-availability design, disaster recovery, core, distribution, and access switching
- Fundamental routing knowledge including BGP and OSPF
- Experience with power & cooling strategies based on knowledge of power consumption, redundancy, management, space allocation, & cooling technologies
- Experience in manufacturing and specifically Good Practices (e.g., Good Manufacturing Practice)
What will separate you from the crowd
- Experience networking with cloud infrastructure services such as AWS or Azure
- Expertise in greenfield deployments designing, delivering, and integrating wireless, wired and data center technologies
- Experience working in a regulated environment
- Exemplifies teamwork and serves as a role model
- Experience securing networks in operational technology environments
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, while also articulating and translating technical language to non-technical customers
What you should know
- Occasional travel will be required
- The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $170,000 and $200,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
