The Position

Strategic Advisers is looking for a Trading Strategist to join the team and execute equity trades in support of the managed account business.

Responsibilities

  • Manage electronic trading activities across the managed account platform for ETFs, common stock, and ADRs.
  • Expand and use knowledge of the markets and market structure, the available trading tools, understanding of trading costs and risk to achieve efficient and effective trade implementation.

  • Perform pre, intra, and post-trade analysis to inform, guide, and evaluate trading approach and results.
  • Engage with the broker-dealer community to further develop and refine the electronic trading toolkit.

  • Exercise effective communication across the trading desk to achieve the highest quality execution results.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external trading partners.
  • Work closely with a team of traders to monitor current events and market liquidity.
  • Collaborate with Portfolio Engineering teams for effective trade implementation and provide support for special situations.

Qualifications

Candidates should have demonstrated consistent success in their academic and work experience. They will have very strong analytical and interpersonal skills and exhibit the highest level of personal and professional integrity. In addition, the ideal candidate will have:

  • 5+ years of industry experience with 3+ years of trading experience
  • Experience with systematic/automated trading preferred and proficiency with various trading tools and techniques
  • Understanding of equity market structure and knowledge of trading venues and order routing strategies
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a constant eye toward accuracy
  • Quantitative aptitude and sharp analytical skills

  • Ability to think creatively and independently while working in a collaborative environment
  • Self-starter, capable of developing new tools and capabilities to solve novel problems facing the trading desk
  • Track record of intellectual curiosity and a passion for problem solving
  • Team-first attitude with flexibility and willingness to pitch-in where needed
