As a Nurse Practitioner You Will:

  • Provide primary medical management for patients aged 0-21 through collaboration with a physician
  • Deliver patient care and education tailored to each patient s age, physical ability, educational level, and culture
  • Conduct health assessments and evaluate patient needs in the primary care clinic
  • Perform physical exams, order and/or perform laboratory and diagnostic tests, and make clinical judgments regarding results
  • Independently perform minor surgical procedures
  • Develop comprehensive care plans for each patient
  • Initiate appropriate consultations and referrals
  • Provide health information and teaching with an emphasis on prevention and curative treatment
  • Act as a primary care resource to the Pediatric Multidisciplinary Team
  • Participate in educational activities with nurses, nurse practitioners, and medical students
  • Document history, physical assessments, and treatment interventions in medical records
  • Engage in committees for quality of care, standards of care, policies and procedures, and program development activities
  • Maintain current standards of practice and pursue professional development
  • Attend regularly scheduled clinical care, team, and department meetings
  • Perform other duties assigned by the physician and/or supervisor as required

Qualifications We're Looking For:

  • Current certification and licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times as required by the health center and regulations
  • Experience working with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, and young adults up to age 21
  • Experience in culturally diverse settings and a passion for community health
  • Proficient in Spanish, Portuguese, and/or Cape Verdean is desirable
