Job Summary:

The Human Resources Manager provides leadership and guidance to the organization's HR operations. The manager is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices and identifying and implementing long-range strategic talent management goals.

Duties/Responsibilities:



Leadership and Employee Relations

  • Understands the company mission and performs all duties per corporate values.
  • Provides focused, business-minded HR leadership to the business and contributes to its success by translating the business vision and strategy into an executable people strategy.
  • Serve as an advisor by recommending company leadership and management solutions, while recognizing scale and personality of the organization.
  • Address concerns and questions from employees and escalate when appropriate.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Build strong relationships to serve as a good listener, lead with empathy, and facilitate solutions that balance the needs of the individual within the business framework of the organization.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create and apply policies that ensure fair treatment, equal opportunities, and a respectful work environment for all employees.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service and support on all employment-related matters.

Benefits Management

  • Review the employee benefits program and make recommendations as necessary, including reviewing annual renewals and open enrollment.
  • Manage benefits open enrollment process annually and serve as internal resource for employees throughout the year

Compliance and Records Management

  • Ensures compliance with and adherence to all applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and procedures.
  • Communicates change in personnel policies and procedures and ensures proper compliance.
  • Collaborates to develop policies across multiple office locations and geographies, with specific regional recommendations when appropriate.
  • Ensure employment compliance and employment laws are met and monitored; work with external legal counsel as needed for related matters.
  • Maintenance of employee data management through an HRIS (experience with Paycor is a plus).

Employee Lifecycle Support

  • Manage the entire recruitment cycle including job postings, screening, interviewing & onboarding, all while partnering with senior management
  • Leads and contributes to long-term talent development, retention, and succession planning.
  • Develops robust talent management plans and drives culture change initiatives to attract, retain, develop, and engage talent in critical roles.

Employee Development and Performance

  • Provide coaching, guidance, and direction to all levels of staff.
  • Facilitate and maintain programs and initiatives in performance management, giving feedback, and enabling employee development.
  • Develop and implement procedures to evaluate employee effectiveness based on skills and physical factors.
  • Consult with legal counsel as appropriate on personnel matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 + years of demonstrable experience in progressive leadership HR roles with strong working knowledge of all key functional areas of people, processes, and tools, such as employee relations, compensation/benefits, training, and development.
  • Required: BA/BS - Preferred MA/MA, SPHR, and PHR certification a plus.
  • HR experience in the real estate industry is preferred.
  • Experience with Paycor as HRIS tool is a plus.
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with high level of tact, diplomacy, discretion, and emotional intelligence.
  • Poised and professional with an ability to connect with team members at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to anticipate people or leadership changes needed.
  • Ability to develop positive, professional relationships with senior leadership and peers in a heavily matrixed environment to serve as a strategic business partner.
  • Self-motivated with a bias for action.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to execute on short and long-term deliverables.
  • A strategic problem solver who uses data and analytics to inform decision making and leadership coaching.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are preferred.
