We support customers with Centers of Excellence in Washington DC, Huntsville, AL and Burlington, MA with an additional 36 locations across the U.S. Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Principal Tactical Air Party Control Specialist for the EPASS , supporting the Air Force Division. A TACP SME is required to support system acquisition and sustainment efforts contributing to the requirements definition, development, integration, test, fielding, training, and sustainment of AF Battlespace Communications TACP capabilities. The candidate shall conduct activities and analysis to develop and articulate performance metrics and system requirements to ensure capability statements are measurable and testable, and that performance parameters meet operational and logistics needs while being fiscally realistic and technically achievable. Operational risk assessments shall be developed based on probability of operational occurrence, system/technical assumptions, and projection of operational effects. This work requires subject matter expertise with Joint Terminal Attack Controller (Air Force Warfighter - Mounted or Dismounted) vehicular and airborne datalinks communications systems. JOB DETAILS LOCATION: Bedford, MA or Fayetville, NC JOB STATUS: Full Time TRAVEL: TBD REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and at least 20 years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 12 years of which must be in the DoD Candidate must have an active US security clearance The SME should have a minimum education and experience of a senior JTAC. Additionally, the SME should have at least five years of joint operational experience; two years of experience in the Government acquisition process; and experience in TACP integration, logistics, maintainability, human factors, security, safety, network communications, hardware, software, and testing. MAJCOM Staff experience, resource development, source selection, and operational test experience are highly desirable. RESPONSIBILITIES : The candidate shall support integration efforts to include assessment of training requirements and analysis of the impact of new capabilities on related doctrine, organizational structure, and operating procedures. This candidate shall have the experience necessary to: Develop, refine and present training related to current and future Battlespace Communications Branch capabilities, including at CONUS and OCONUS locations. Support technical support activities to operational units, assist in developing guidance to operational units and any technical task assigned. Develop and deliver presentations and convey program status, plans and perspectives in Air Force and/or Joint forums Assist in the development on Concept of Operations and Concept of Employment for future TACP efforts, to include integration with the Air Support Operations Center, Air Operations Center, Joint Deep Operations Center, and other joint Command and Control networks. Analyze complex operations and integration challenges, identify root causes, and identify and incorporate training solutions. Draft, review, and comment upon requirements documentation, analyses and technical materials, participate in development and review of Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS).and other requirements documentation (AF Form 1067), which may involve technical system specifications, architecture diagrams, operations concepts, training and test plans. Complete tasks as assigned to support material development decisions, document refinement and comment resolution, material, design reviews, and testing events. Have experience leading technical and operational teams, developing milestones and training plans for operational fielding, training and exercise execution.
