Job description

Tyto Athene is seeking a Principal Engineer to support a Government Program Management Office in Suitland, MD. Responsibilities: Work is Part-time on government site and telework, in accordance with customer demand. Support the Program Management Office and other organizations as a subject matter expert (SME), providing multi-disciplined technical and strategic assistance to government program managers. Provide technical direction and expertise on a variety of program areas, including strategic management, project management, computer science, cloud computing, network engineering, software engineering, systems engineering, systems design, and budget analysis. Provide strategic guidance for a multi-network, multi-domain, and multi-cloud environment. Provide specialized support on a cloud ecosystem effort to migrate a large database to a cloud environment; while assisting with acquisition planning, milestone review, system requirements, concept of operations, installation, and test & evaluation. Assess emerging technologies and quantify current system performance to recommend options for future system enhancement based on customer priorities. Facilitate communications between the Program Office and various stakeholders, including resource sponsors, technical/design agents (field and R&D activities, test facilities, laboratories), platform Type Commanders, and other government agencies. Qualifications: Current active TS/SCI clearance (must have current SSBI) as reported in DISS. Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related technical discipline. Fifteen (15) or more years of experience in support of DoD acquisition programs, project management support, systems analysis, or systems engineering. Expert knowledge of IC, DoD, and Navy cloud policies and strategies. Deep experience with enterprise architecture, IaaS/PaaS/SaaS solutions, data modeling, DevOps/DevSecOps, and Agile software development. Proficiency with the DoD Acquisition System, Planning Programming Budgeting & Execution (PPBE) system, and Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Excellent communication skills (written and oral), able to effectively interact with customers, partners, and associates at all levels. High proficiency with MS Office Suite, web-based applications, and databases. Desired Skills: Master's Degree in technical or related discipline. Completion of various DAU and Project Management coursework/certifications.
