Description Position Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt Work Location: St. Inigoes, MD Systems Application & Technologies, Inc. (SA-TECH) is a progressive and well-established Department of Defense (DoD) contractor specializing in Range operations and maintenance (O&M); weapons testing; facilities management; aerial, ground and seaborne targets O&M; technical, logistics and other engineering support; systems integration; electronics and communications maintenance services; and a growing cybersecurity business. SA-TECH currently supports the Naval Air Warfare Center (NAWCAD) Naval Air Systems Command, and the NAWCAD Webster Outlying Field Divisions by providing rapid organic engineering, prototyping, reverse-engineering, environmental testing, antenna repairs and life-cycle extensions, and production capabilities. We are currently looking to hire a Sheet Metal Worker at our St. Inigoes, MD facilities to perform non-routine assignments of substantial variety and complexity on project articles, components, and support structures and equipment. The following job functions are basic requirements (but other duties may be assigned as well): Perform as a member of project work team on project article preparations, modifications, assembly, setup, and teardown using fabrication shop machinery, sheet metal fabrication, and mechanical assembly operations to accomplish project requirements according to approved design tolerances.
Perform precision sheet-metal fabrication for modifications to, or manufacturing of, unique equipment, systems, and structures. Perform inspection and acceptance checks at project milestones and completion of project assignment to ensure technical adequacy. Fabricate unconventional, one-of-a-kind items, systems, apparatus, and structures in support of experimental project articles.
Plan and conduct work from blueprints, drawings, plans, and/or technical publications. Perform maintenance, repair, and update on specialized equipment and systems unique to our operations. Other tasks, as required, to support customer requirements.Work Conditions: Conditions will vary.
Capable of working outdoors and occasionally from elevated work platforms with fall protection harness and in temperatures ranging from 0-120.
Position will include: 45% standing, 20% bending, 15% reaching, 5% sitting, 5% walking, and 10% lifting.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted.
Overtime is a requirement of this position.
Requirements Education/Experience/Skills: High school education or equivalent.
Formal military or trade school or equivalent on-the-job training commensurate with duties.
Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience in sheet-metal fabrication and shop operations at the journeyman level. Expertise with precision hand tools and measuring instruments. Must have ability to interpret engineering drawings, plans, and project requirements. Must be capable of leading a fabrication team on project efforts to cost, schedule, and technical specification as per approved engineering designs.
Must be capable of developing modifications such that project requirements are satisfied without jeopardizing safety of operations. Must possess ability to work tactfully with professional engineers, technicians, and management staff on all levels of effort.

Current Maryland Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
U.S. Citizenship required and you must already have or be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
