Job description
Lead Database Administrator Ability to obtain Public Trust security clearance. On-site or occasionally travel to Rockville MD site. Nationwide IT Services (NIS) is seeking a Lead Database Administrator for a prospective role in assisting our government client at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Required Experience: Expert technical knowledge of the principles, methods, and techniques used in all phases of database development, coding, and design, including business analysis, event modeling, logical and physical database design, data access analysis and design, DBMS optimization, archive and recovery strategy, load strategy design and implementation, security, and change management, infrastructure design, and implementation. 15 years of experience in the design, maintenance, and coding of databases At least 10 years of experience in database administration Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or similar from an accredited university Demonstrated skills in the described position. Experience as a government contractor professional. Knowledge of HHS Agency For Healthcare Research and Quality (AHQR). Understands working within Scrum ban Agile wrapped in Enterprise Performance Management Life Cycle (EPLC) governance model. Experience with routine and event-driven corrective maintenance. Security and compliance scanning for adherence to FISMA, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, and HHS and AHRQ Web Standards. Technology: Atlassian Data Center (Confluence, Jira, Bamboo, etc.): used for version control and change request management. Eclipse: used to create and maintain Java source code, JSP, CSS, Struts and Java Web Application. PLSQL Developer: used to create and modify SQL scripts and packages in the Oracle Database. SharePoint systems are currently hosted in Microsoft's M365 environment and an on-premises Microsoft SharePoint Server 2019. Client maintains an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud environment with the Federal Cloud Computing Strategy - Cloud Smart. Database Standards - Oracle 19c, SQL Server 2016 (specialized); Oracle Application Server (OAS) database connection pool. Desktop Environments - Windows 11, Linux/Devuan, Apple MacOS Sonoma 14.5. Server Infrastructure - Microsoft Windows Server 2016 R2 and 2019, virtualized on Nutanix AHV. The underlying hardware consists of Nutanix OEM appliances from Dell Technologies, utilizing Nutanix snapshot technology and HYCU backup. Linux distributions include Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and Devuan Daedalus (Debian) LTS. Application Server Platforms - Oracle Fusion Middleware 12.2 (Webcache/WebLogic), Resource Scheduler v12, Internet Information Services (IIS) 8.5, SharePoint Server 2019, ColdFusion 2021, Apache httpd 2.4, and Tomcat 9/10. Application Development Languages - Java, JSTL, J2EE, Swift, .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, Perl, Rust, Kotlin, Swift, PL/SQL, and Transact-SQL. Application Development Tools - Oracle JDeveloper, IBM Eclipse, Microsoft Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code, Xcode 15.4, Android Studio Iguana 2023.2.1, TortoiseSVN, Subversion 1.14, Atlassian Jira, MS Project, UiPath, PL/SQL Developer, DbVisualizer 24.2, DBSchema, and Toad.
