Job Description Agile Project Manager
BAE Systems Intelligence & Security designs and delivers advanced defense, intelligence, and security solutions that support the important missions of our customers. BAE Systems is the independent and unbiased weapon systems integration agent for the US Navy's Strategic Systems Program (SSP). We perform a variety of roles within the bounds of Systems Engineering & Integration, Lifecycle Logistics, and Information Technology / Information Management. As a critical member of our team, you will have the opportunity to be a part of SSP's Digital Engineering transformation for complex system design and development efforts by applying agile tools in a system engineering environment to support SSP's adoption of agile principles and practices to enable greater adaptability, efficiency, and collaboration to deliver value to the mission. BAE Systems has an immediate need for a highly qualified Agile PM with experience helping organizations transition to agile project management. The successful candidate will perform as a Scrum Master/Agile champion within a complex System of Systems (SoS) environment. This position works closely with multiple teams of digital modelers in a Scrum of Scrums to ensure that the work progresses on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of quality. Additionally, you will serve as a coach and mentor to the team by helping to foster a culture of continuous improvement and ensuring that the team is meeting its objectives consistently. In this role, you will work with the Architecture Technical Lead and the SSP customer, tracking and communicating status in real time and elevating risks and dependencies as needed for action. You are the point person responsible for understanding the big development picture and bridging the needs of the customer, the team, and management. Expectations of this role:
Utilize agile methodology values, principles, and practices to effectively plan, manage, and deliver solutions and new capabilities
Schedule and lead PI Planning, Backlog Refinement, sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, collaborating with all teams involved to ensure deliverables are prioritized and met
Collect and monitor metrics and trends using Jira and/or Confluence
Effectively and accurately communicate with the customer, team members and internal leadership on status, risks, and issues
Perform as a Servant Leader to identify and resolve impediments, finding creative ways to solve problems
Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration, while managing team capacity
Ensure that goals, scope, and product backlog items are understood and can be fulfilled by the team
Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback sessions
Ability to adapt to quickly to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
Ability to anticipate the customer's needs and work to exceed their expectations
Require little to no supervision - proactive approach to issue identification and resolution
Train, mentor, and support teams to follow agile values, principles, and practices Required Education, Experience, & Skills Bachelor's Degree and at least six years of related/relevant work experience as an agile project manager/scrum master, preferably in a Scrum of Scrums environment or Master's Degree and at least 4 years of related/relevant work experience as a scrum master, preferably in a Scrum of Scrums environment Scrum Master certification from Scrum Alliance or Scrum.org and/or Agile PM certification from PMI
Strong knowledge and experience of Atlassian tools such as Confluence and Jira
Experience transitioning organizations to agile from typical waterfall methodology
Experience implementing Agile principles and practices within non software development projects
Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills PMP certification
Scrum Professional or Agile Coach certification
JQL/Jira Administration
Experience with DoD or Federal government environments
Systems Engineering or Digital Modeling experience
Knowledge of MBSE modeling languages, frameworks, and tools such as SysML, DoDAF, UML, Cameo
INCOSE and/or OCSMP Certification Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $112420 - $191070 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
