V2X has an immediate opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator to support our government customer located at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River located in Patuxent River, MD. The environment includes servers, workstations and peripheral devices. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team which supports a vital DoD network environment, and an important DoD mission. This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret security clearance. Responsibilities In this position, you will be responsible for providing cybersecurity analysis, information technology support, and applying DoD security controls to operating systems and applications as described below. Maintain multiple Linux servers based information systems. Provide Systems Administrator support for installing, configuring, maintaining, and operating high performance computing (HPC) clusters utilizing Linux or Unix based operating systems to meet Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) requirements in support of digital engineering efforts. Provide and perform a wide range of systems administration and life cycle management tasks to support and sustain IT networks as directed by the Government IT Lead. Provide hardware and software recommendations, installation, testing, configuration management, laboratory management, development and implementation of back-up and disaster recovery procedures, and development of hardware and software requirements in accordance with the RMF/JSIP, Rev 4 Recommend and schedule Information Assurance (IA) related repairs in the network environment. Perform IA related customer support functions including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and/or training in response to customer requirements for the network environment. Analyze system performance for potential security problems. Run vulnerability and compliance assessments via ACAS and STIG's. Perform patching (flaw remediation) activities. Provide Assured File Transfer (AFT) capabilities across multiple classified networks following documented policies and procedures. Implement and maintain a Backup and Recovery solution for all information systems. Diagnose and resolve IA problems in response to customer reported incidents. Coordinate with other teams to assist in the installation of infrastructure hardware and software. Create, update and maintain diagrams, inventory, build guides and maintenance log documentation. Develop plans and dates associated with tasks and provide status updates as required by the Government Program Manager. Communicate daily issues to include, but not limited to, network outages, system failures, or noncompliance in accordance with applicable government regulations to cybersecurity staff and stakeholders. Adhere to IS security laws and regulations to support functional operations for the network environment. Support COMSEC network devices. Qualifications Required Qualifications: An active DoD Top Secret clearance. Demonstrated expertise in IAT Level II network enterprise (NE) knowledge and skills. Possess knowledge and experience in Linux Server environments. Minimum of 6 years as a systems administrator. Possess DoD Approved Baseline Certification as Information Assurance Technical Level II in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M/8140 (i.e. Security+ CE & Vendor certification or IT Training Provider certificate for network environment main operating system. Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF)/Joint SAP Implementation Guideline (JSIG). Working knowledge of Windows server based OS's is desired.
