Description: Railhead is seeking qualified candidates to join our Defense Enclave Services (DES) team, who will support an extensive digital modernization program critical to DISA and Fourth Estate Agencies. The Automation Engineer on a team of engineers in support of 9 Product Owners delivering new cloud service capabilities. The Automation Engineer will develop, configure, and deploy IaaS/PaaS and SaaS services within the Azure Cloud to fulfill end user requirements utilizing Ansible Automation Platform in conjunction with other toolsets. The Azure Cloud Engineer with participate in the development of user stories, sprint planning, and test case development / execution within an agile project environment. Primary Responsibilities: Design and Deploy Ansible Automation platform in support of modernization of legacy environment and the implementation of new capabilities in the cloud utilizing Infrastructure as code.
Advanced administration & maintenance experience in Red Hat Ansible and downstream frontends (i.e. AWX)
Experience utilizing Ansible to orchestrate end to end CI/CD pipeline utilizing tools such as GITLAB, JIRA, ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Azure Function, etc.
Develop Ansible playbooks to automate system provisioning and application deployment.
Administer & evolve user-friendly frontend to use automation tools.
Knowledge in Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
Advanced skills in RHEL using shells/consoles and common scripting languages (i.e., BASH)
Advanced knowledge of Red Hat Satellite
Ability to manage various RHEL repositories and mirrors.
Knowledge of Windows AD/Azure AD and other Windows Server services
Have a significant role in the evaluation and support of application architectures across platforms to ensure alignment to cloud and application modernization strategies, capabilities and requirement sets.
Participate in the day-to-day execution of the enterprise architecture strategy via agile release schedules utilizing DevOps and CI/CD tool sets.
Work across multiple projects and systems to develop user stories, system design document, implementation plan document, and SOPs.
Understanding technical security best particles and guidelines within Ansible Automation Platform. knowledge of and experience with security policies, network security, data security and security event management to adopt cloud security services. Basic Qualifications: Possess a current Secret clearance or above.
Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience; additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience architecting/deploying/operating Ansible Automation Platform
Experience with DevOps principles and Automation Platforms such Azure Functions and Ansible.
Strong scripting experience/background (using PowerShell, BASH, and Python.)
Understanding of Federal Government application, server, and network security requirements such as FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST.
Candidate must possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, a strong analytical ability.
Expertise in the Atlassian tool suite, to include JIRA and Confluence
Excellent written and oral communication skills
