We are a hardware build, test and launch organization and seek a skilled, mechanically focused, hands-on individual, who is comfortable taking direction, and working closely with others as a critical team member. As a member of our team, you'll leverage your current industry skills and develop new ones needed to work independently and assemble, test, handle very high value, one of a kind spacecraft hardware. You will be joining a hardworking team of engineers, scientists and technical staff. We are passionate about our one-of-a-kind products and the services we provide our sponsors and US Government agencies. As a Spacecraft Mechanical Technician Your primary responsibility will be performing hands on hardware assembly and conducting various testing functions and handling operations involving high value aerospace hardware.
You will interface with designers, engineers and other technical support staff in order to solve complex problems.
You will be working with the teams conducting overhead crane lift operations, spacecraft fueling operations and other hardware handling operations.
You will operate fork lifts, overhead cranes, personnel lifts, and work in clean room assembly areas.
You will be responsible for reading and interpreting drawings, procedures and following quality control guidelines and inspection procedures. You will be expected to set up fixtures, tooling and other systems to prepare for tests, measurements, deployments, handling operations, etc.
You will be part of the launch site operations team, assisting handling and mate operations with the launch vehicle. You will be a trusted partner that the engineers and other technical staff rely on to provide your independent assessments of various aspects of the work we are doing Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you Possess a high school diploma or equivalent
Have 3+ years of experience working in aerospace or a related field
Are skilled in use of hand tools and shop equipment
Are willing and able to travel to launch sites and other testing facilities as needed, work in cleanrooms, and can lift 50 lbs.
Have the ability to communicate differing opinions in a collaborative environment without conflict among other team members
Are able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
You'll go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you Possess an associate's degree or technical certification(s)
Previous experience with spacecraft propulsion systems, thermal systems, or structural assemblies
Have experience with epoxy bonding and polymerics application
