Job Description:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintenance and repair of all equipment within the warehouse facility operations working with minimal supervision. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance on shipping, packaging & supporting equipment. The Maintenance Technician must be able to effectively communicate and work closely with many different departments within the organization. This position will work closely with and assist the Facilities and Sanitation Supervisor on various assignments.

Responsibilities:

Strong understanding of the importance of product safety and good housekeeping and the vital role that maintenance personnel play in product safety and customer satisfaction.

Troubleshoot and repair all shipping equipment and facilities support equipment.

Determine the appropriate components and repair equipment to keep on hand which will result in limited production down time and unnecessary crisis management.

Coordinate, implement, and participate in scheduling preventive maintenance on all shipping equipment and facilities support equipment.

Maintain and repair as needed all lift trucks, straps, tapers, box makers and conveyors.

Perform a variety of general housekeeping/maintenance duties such and operating floor scrubber, painting, and replacing light bulbs.

Complete and maintain all necessary documentation including applicable cGMP documents.

Thorough knowledge of occupation hClientards and corresponding safety precautions for the safe performance of assigned duties including lock out tag out procedures.

Perform warehouse duties as assigned.

Able to be flexible with work schedule and willing to work overtime as needed.

Experience:

2 - 4 years hands on maintenance experience in a fast-paced warehousing, manufacturing or packaging environment

Skills:

Experience with solid mechanical and electrical aptitude

Strong ability to install, repair and maintain all mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, painting, and other related components of shipping & packaging equipment in a safe and timely manner

Ability to effectively read & understand mechanical drawings & electrical drawings, including floor plans

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as a team player with co-workers, suppliers and contractors

Strong ability to effectively communicate verbally and written English

Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs

Education:

High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in working with conveyor mechanics and controls

Experience in a Food Supplement, Food Contact or Food manufacturing environment

Technical Institution certification or degree
