The company was founded in Bethesda, MD in 2013, to bring fresh, made-from-scratch organic breads, pastries, sweets, and croissant items inspired by bakeries in France to the DMV area. We have expanded to seven retail locations, two production bakeries, and a thriving wholesale business. Fresh Baguette is looking for a talented and passionate Fleet Manager for its Production Center in Germantown, MD .

The Fleet Manager oversees the night-shift fleet operations, emphasizing efficiency, safety, and high-quality service across delivery points. Given Fresh Baguettes commitment to fresh and timely deliveries, this role requires not only logistics acumen but also expertise in managing a team in night operations and addressing the unique challenges of perishable food transport.

Key Responsibilities

• Fleet Operations Management: Optimize fleet schedules using advanced route management software, ensuring timely deliveries. Oversee dispatch, driver allocation, and fleet utilization with an emphasis on efficiency.
• Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and manage night-shift delivery staff, instilling a team culture that supports Fresh Baguettes standards.
• Safety and Compliance: Implement and enforce safety policies, food safety standards, and temperature-control practices.
• Maintenance and Real-Time Tracking: Oversee vehicle maintenance and systems for real-time tracking, vehicle diagnostics, and route optimization.
• Cost Management and Reporting: Monitor fuel, maintenance, labor and other operational costs; provide reports to senior management on KPIs and identify areas for operational cost-savings.
• Customer Experience Focus: Address delivery-related customer issues and ensure high satisfaction by meeting scheduled delivery times and maintaining food quality.

Compensation

• $65,000 / year to $85,000 / year with potential bonuses

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: 5+ years in fleet management with at least 3 years experience in night operations.
• Education: Certifications like Certified Transportation Professional (CTP) or Certified Logistics Professional (CLP) are advantageous.
• Technical Skills:
• • Proficiency with fleet management software.
  • Experience with temperature-control logistics for perishable goods
  • Data analysis skills for labor, fuel optimization and fleet tracking.
• Soft Skills:
• • Strong leadership, with experience managing diverse teams on night shifts.
  • Excellent communication and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • High adaptability to manage unexpected challenges in delivery timelines or staffing.

Additional Requirements

• Licensure: Valid drivers license with a clean record and CDL.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to work night shifts and regularly lift 10-70 lbs.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship .
