West Cecil Health Center (WCHC) is seeking a dedicated Medical Receptionist - Behavioral Health to join our team in our Conowingo office.

WCHC is a thriving nonprofit, community health organization that provides comprehensive and collaborative patient centered healthcare services.

As a Medical Receptionist - Behavioral Health, you will support our amazing care team by: Greeting all visitors and clients, direct to appropriate location, register patients, collect fees, check out patients, schedule appointments, process telephone calls, and provide information in a courteous and helpful manner. Bilingual is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Greets all persons and in a courteous, polite and helpful manner.

  • Provides efficient and professional telephone and FAX services, processing messages promptly.

  • Respects and maintains privacy and patient confidentiality at all times.

  • Registers patients according to WCHC protocol.

  • Determines the financial status of patients. Copies insurance cards and verifies benefits information. Collects any fees or deductibles needed.

  • Obtain Authorizations and referrals for visits and medications.

  • Maintain medication samples.

  • Obtain medical history and input into EMR

  • Input and manage prescription requests, phone messages, and "buckets" in EMR

  • Schedule and confirm appointments.

  • Maintains and reports statistics as required.

  • Maintains office supplies needed for behavioral health department.

  • Assist patients with case management.

  • Maintains area in neat and orderly condition.

  • Participates in staff and educational meetings.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
