Job description

Located in Howard County, Maryland, Nteligen engineers solutions to the challenges of information movement. We perform proactive cyber threat mitigation in everything we do. Nteligen is not afraid to solve challenging problems and is known to take on a wide breadth of different types of work, including software engineering, technical research, product assessment, security assessment, and cyber consulting.
This position will utilize a mix of skills that will require the software engineer to understand an IT system's entire context and the associated IT risks and design solutions to the problems found. The software engineer will help define, design, and develop solutions that enable mission data to be passed to processing systems. The successful candidate helps design a solution for the current legacy system and optimizes the solution to work in a hybrid environment. This position requires coding knowledge, but the day-to-day will be focused on software engineering. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable in Linux system security and have excellent writing skills

Hard Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience in programs within the federal government B.S. degree (or higher) in Computer Science or a related technical discipline Compliant with DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher (ie. Holds an active CE Security+ certification) Experience developing software systems that operate on Enterprise Linux or comparable operating systems. Experience in performing the full software development life cycle (SDLC) Aware of agile software development concepts. Experience coding in object-oriented programming languages such as C++, Java, or Python Familiar with memory-safe coding languages, such as Go or Rust Experience with development in the cloud (Azure, AWS, etc) at least a year. Experience with debugging software. Excellent problem-solving skills Familiar with Build Management, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and Automated Testing systems Ability to communicate technical concepts in written form. Must be a U.S. Citizen Must have an active Secret security clearance. Preferred Requirements (but not required): Active Top Secret security clearance Systems design tools ( i.e. Visio or Archi) Preferred
