FEA Engineer Job Category: Engineering Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Local The Opportunity: CACI is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finite Element Analysis (FEA) Engineer to our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, applied mechanics, and simulation techniques. This position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects and contribute to the design and analysis, test, and evaluation of the next generation of Naval surface and submarine craft. Responsibilities: Conduct finite element analysis to evaluate and optimize structural designs.
Develop and validate FEA models using software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or similar tools.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design, manufacturing, and testing, to ensure product performance and reliability.
Prepare detailed reports and presentations of analysis results for stakeholders.
Identify and address potential issues early in the design process through effective simulation.
Stay current with industry trends and advancements in FEA techniques. Qualifications: Required: Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
2+ years proven experience in finite element analysis, ideally in a relevant industry (e.g., defense contracting, aerospace, industrial design, marine engineering).
Knowledge of composite materials in structural design
Proficiency in FEA software (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) and CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Desired: Experience with nonlinear analysis, thermal analysis, and dynamic simulations.
Knowledge of material properties and behavior under various loading conditions.
Familiarity with design for manufacturability (DFM) principles. This position is contingent on funding and may not be filled immediately. Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
