The Engineer is responsible for System Administration on a geo-diverse platform and must have the experience and ability to customize, and configure the telephony platform including designing, troubleshooting, as well as supporting future upgrades and enhancements. Employees will also work on unique and interesting advanced projects and provide cutover support, application troubleshooting/triage, and follow-up support as required. Responsibilities Include:
• Performs on-site installation and repair of Cisco voice systems in accordance with contractual service level agreements (SLA).
• Provides technical support to customers on operational or maintenance aspects of Cisco voice systems.
• Serves as customer contact on technical and service-related Cisco voice systems problems.
• Diagnoses hardware and software system related failures utilizing established Cisco troubleshooting practices.
• Prepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and service availability metrics.
• Interface with customers representing the team at a very professional level.
• Support on-site staff in creating System Acceptance Test, Security, and Customer cutover Plans.
• Performs daily maintenance/repair/project tasks independently and provides updates to on-site management as requested/warranted.
• Perform emergency recovery on failed components and coordinate repair with vendor support as needed.
• Assist operations staff in resolving customer trouble tickets and network issues that are outside of their troubleshooting scope.
• Perform Interoperability and acceptance testing directly with customers and suppliers.
• Document network architecture and methods of procedure for regularly performed tasks.
• Monitor and provide support for voicemail systems and other CUCM components such as CER, Unity, etc.
• Perform and handle not only core maintenance responsibilities, but device hardware instillation and support as necessary.
• Ability to work independently at a remote or alternate worksite as necessary.
• Act as the on-site resource and aid for Visioneering to our customers. The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in some or all the following areas: • Able to triage, diagnose and repair hardware and software faults.
• Strong enterprise Cisco Voice exposure and must have the ability to design and install high availability services.
• Strong technical background of TCP/IP and Network Security related protocols such as DNS, FTP, HTTP, ICMP, IPv4, IPv6, NTP, RTP, SRTP, SNMP, SMTP, SSH, SSL/TLS, NAT, VLAN.
• Interoperability experience with the following protocols/technologies.
• SIP applications.
• SIP Trunking / Access.
• VoIP CODEC transcoding.
• CISCO CUCM/UNITY Platform.
• Analog/T1/ Gateways.
• Installation and maintenance experience with enterprise server hardware, copper, and fiber Ethernet.
• Experience with CLASS 5 Softswitch and feature server.
• Ability to make technical presentations to customers.
• Ability to prepare written documents describing technical features and capabilities of the equipment, software, applications, etc. Minimum Qualifications:
MUST be a US citizen
5 years of server administration experience
5 years of relevant training/knowledge/experience in an active working environment
Secret Security Clearance
Will have, or be able to obtain a Security+ Certification
3 years of experience within a CISCO VOIP voice system environment (preferred)
