Job description
This leadership position, the Change Control Function Manager, will report into the Production Operations Vice President, Managing Director, and will be responsible for the practice of Technology Change Control and a team of change control managers. You should have experience in a fast paced environment with application, infrastructure, security and network changes put into production daily. We are looking for someone that has taken a mature Change Management group and made them better.
Responsibilities
Define strategic direction for maturing the Change Control practice and drive improvement
Guide the Change Management function to review change requests and ensure requests are complete, accurate and follow established procedures. Assess risk, drive actions to ensure changes are prepared to be executed without impact.
Determine requirements for which changes can be auto-approved via automation due to achieving implicit criteria, versus which changes require a manual review & approval. Drive toward automation as much as possible. However, changes with higher risk, greater impact, higher complexity or manual deployment steps may require more scrutiny.
Work with teams on any unsuccessful changes & releases to ensure issues are corrected so that we can prevent repeated mistakes and improve.
Engage with Technology peers to learn about development activities or infrastructure changes early in the lifecycle to help ensure change, release & deployment preparation is completed in advance.
Provide leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams on change, release & deployment processes.
Ensure changes are properly communicated. This will include publishing a change/release calendar, providing visibility to stakeholders, notifying stakeholders of Go/No-Go decisions, communicating to interested parties before, during and after a change/release.
Drive to optimize data that is collected relative to changes and deployments. Use the data to identify issues, risks & opportunities. Create actions based on the data.
Contribute to improving change, release & deployment related metrics and reports. Use data to identify areas of concern and drive focus.
Define and refine Change Management processes & policies, including setting requirements for what must be in place before changes & releases are deployed to production.
Respond to any Auditor requests related to Change Management and ensure any audit issues (or potential issues) are mitigated.
Coordinate with the Configuration Management team to help ensure that the CMDB (Configuration Management Database) is updated as changes are deployed to Production.
Coordinate with the ServiceNow team to ensure we can leverage tooling and automation to improve efficiency and add value with the Change Control function.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in any of Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
Minimum experience of 5 years working with ITIL practices, including 5 years of experience with Change Control and Release Management
Minimum experience of 10 years working in a Technology organization
Minimum experience of 3 years managing a team of change control managers

This role is Hybrid. You should be located within a commutable distance to one of our offices located in Baltimore MD, Charlotte NC, Wilmington DE, Evansville IN, Chicago IL, or Dallas/Fort Worth TX.
Target base salary range is $115k - $140k, which is based on various factors including skills, work experience, and location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for a competitive additional compensation program that is based on individual and company performance.
